The US is the world's largest oil producer… significant profits when oil prices rise.

President Donald Trump stressed on Thursday that preventing Iran, the "evil empire," from acquiring nuclear weapons is far more important than rising oil prices, stating that national security and global stability remain his top priorities amid ongoing Middle East conflicts.
"America makes a fortune from higher Oil Prices because we are the largest oil producer in the world!" Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday morning.
He added, "But for me as President, of far greater importance and concern, is preventing the Evil Empire of Iran from having Nuclear Weapons, thereby destroying the Middle East and importantly, the WORLD. We will not let this happen!"
Oil prices have experienced significant fluctuations since the launch of "Operation Epic Fury" on February 28.
On Monday, the international Brent crude oil price experienced a rollercoaster, soaring to near $120 per barrel before dropping into the $80s. Prices have since gradually risen, crossing the $90 mark again on Wednesday.
Despite the volatility, President Trump has argued that the U.S. is in a favorable position to manage any energy disruptions due to its dominant role in oil production.
As part of efforts to stabilize prices, Trump announced that the U.S. would utilize its strategic petroleum reserves if necessary to alleviate energy cost burdens for American consumers.
The current reserves stand at approximately 416 million barrels, a significant decrease from the 638 million barrels held when Trump left office in 2021, after the Biden administration drew down the reserves to respond to rising oil prices.
President Trump has a 60-day window to sustain military operations without congressional approval, and he is in a position where he needs to bring the war in Iran to an early victory to ensure Republicans are in a favorable position in the upcoming November midterm elections.
