The perpetrator who attacked Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, has been identified as a Lebanese national, according to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin.

The perpetrator, who drove a car laden with explosives into the Temple Israel building in Michigan on the 12th (local time), was killed in a shootout with security guards.

Reporter Melugin reported that the Department of Homeland Security confirmed to Fox News that the perpetrator of the Michigan synagogue attack was identified as Ayman Mohammad Ghazali, a Lebanese national who first entered the U.S. in 2011 on an IR1 immigrant visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen.

Ghazali obtained U.S. citizenship in 2016 during the Obama administration.

According to The Guardian, the Lebanese National News Agency and the Ministry of Health announced that four people were killed and one woman was injured in an Israeli airstrike in the town of Mashgara in eastern Lebanon on March 5.

This occurred as Israel launched renewed attacks on Lebanon to neutralize Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed armed group, concurrently with the start of U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran late last month.

A local official in Mashgara, central Lebanon, told the Associated Press on Friday that Ghazali's two brothers and his niece and nephew were killed in an airstrike at their home shortly after sunset on March 5, while they were breaking their fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

An official, who requested anonymity as they were not authorized to publicly discuss details of the airstrikes, told the Associated Press that Qassem and Ibrahim Ghazali, and Ali and Fatima, children of Ibrahim Ghazali, were killed.

The official stated that Qassem Ghazali was a renowned football coach and personal trainer, while Ibrahim worked as a school bus driver in the village.

However, according to a post on Israel's News Pulse on X, Ghazali's brothers, Qassem and Ibrahim, who were the synagogue attacker's brothers, were members of Hezbollah's Imam Al-Mahdi Scouts reconnaissance unit.

Meanwhile, approximately 140 children, staff, and congregants were in the vicinity of the synagogue at the time of the attack, and no one was injured among them. One security guard sustained injuries but is reported to be in stable condition.
