LeBron James (No. 77) embracing Luka Doncic after the game [AP=Yonhap News]
Los Angeles (LA) Lakers' "King" LeBron James (41) of the National Basketball Association (NBA) has once again etched his name deep into league history.
James played in his 1,611th career game on March 20th (Korean time) at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, in an away game against the Miami Heat during the 2025-2026 NBA regular season.
With this appearance, James has now matched Robert Parish's (72) record for the most games played in NBA history.
James, who debuted in the NBA in 2003 and is in his league-record '23rd' season, has steadily accumulated records each year, starting with 79 games in his rookie season.
He currently holds the No. 1 spot in the NBA for all-time points scored (43,229 points) and field goals made (15,884).
On this day, James recorded a triple-double with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, achieving his second triple-double of the season and 124th of his career, following his performance against the Dallas Mavericks on February 13th.
James, who set a new record for the oldest player to achieve a triple-double at 41 years and 44 days old against Dallas, extended this record by another month.

James is expected to surpass Parish and take sole possession of the all-time games played record in the Lakers' next game against the Orlando Magic on March 22nd.
Parish, who played for 21 seasons from 1976, said in an interview with ESPN, "I always thought my record would be broken someday. If there was anyone who could break the 'Iron Man' record, I thought it would be James." He added, "He takes meticulous care of himself. His approach to managing his stamina and his diet aligns with what I believed."
The Lakers, led by James, defeated Miami 134-126, extending their winning streak to eight games and maintaining their third-place position in the Western Conference with a record of 45 wins and 25 losses.
Luka Doncic contributed significantly to the victory, exploding for 60 points. This 60-point performance marks Doncic's second-highest career scoring output, with his personal best of 73 points coming against the Atlanta Hawks on January 27, 2024.
