This newspaper reported on January 18th in its Opinion section, under the title "[Yohui Lim's US-Korea Views] The Culprit Behind the Muan Airport Disaster Must Be Revealed," that the Democratic Party of Korea blamed the airline for the Jeju Air disaster by holding the pilot and flocks of birds primarily responsible.

In response, the Democratic Party of Korea stated, "We have never concluded that the pilot and flocks of birds were the primary cause of the Jeju Air disaster," and added, "As the special committee for the National Audit of the 12-29 passenger jet crash is currently underway, we will do our utmost to investigate and determine the cause."
