The U.S. Department of War is preparing potential "final strike" military options against Iran, which include precision invasions of strategic strongholds and possible ground operations within Iranian territory, multiple media outlets reported on Thursday, the 26th.

The press reported that President Donald Trump is contemplating ways to avoid a protracted war and swiftly end the conflict.

Axios, citing federal officials, reported that the plans under discussion include occupying or blockading key Iranian strongholds such as Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub, Larak Island, and Abu Musa Island, near the Strait of Hormuz.

Other options include blocking Iran's oil transportation or conducting large-scale air strikes on its nuclear facilities.

Some scenarios also consider deploying ground troops to secure enriched uranium facilities, though the White House has described such operations as hypothetical and extremely risky.

These proposals reflect escalating pressure on Iran amid diplomatic efforts hitting a stalemate and threats to the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Officials stated that President Trump is prepared to resort to military action if negotiations fail, and additional U.S. troops, fighter squadrons, and Marine units are already being moved to the region.

In contrast, Iran has warned that it will take extensive retaliatory measures against regional infrastructure if its territory is attacked.

According to The Wall Street Journal, these military plans come as President Trump has privately indicated a desire to end the war within weeks, though he has publicly criticized The Wall Street Journal as fake news daily.

Now, nearly a month after the conflict began, President Trump has told his staff that he aims to avoid a long-term war and conclude it within four to six weeks, although officials acknowledge there is no easy path to a decisive end.

Ultimately, the attack is likely to be premised on the possibility of regime change movements within Iran, although no organized movement for regime change is currently detected within Iran.

President Trump has pursued a dual approach of diplomatic solutions and military pressure against Iran.

Recent peace talks have been progressing with a five-day deadline, the last day of which is now approaching tomorrow (Friday). In response, the Trump administration appears to be increasing troop numbers and readiness for a swift attack or raid.

On Thursday the 26th, President Trump stated on Truth Social, "The Iranian negotiating team is very different and 'strange.' They are 'begging' us to reach an agreement, and they rightly should be, given they are completely ruined militarily and have no chance of recovery, but publicly they just say 'we are reviewing our proposals'."

He then warned, "WRONG!!! They should get serious before it’s too late. Once that happens, it can’t be undone and the results will never be good!"

Hope for peace talks still remains. Amid expectations of a meeting in Islamabad on Saturday the 28th, brokered by Pakistan, with the possibility of declaring a ceasefire, reports have emerged of Israel initiating a "48-hour intensive strike." Media outlets reported that Israel launched a full-scale attack to inflict a decisive blow on Iran before a ceasefire declaration.

Meanwhile, according to Just the News, President Trump stated at a cabinet meeting on Thursday the 26th that the "gift from Iran" received a few days prior was the "permission for eight oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz."

President Trump said, "They said, 'To show you we are real and unwavering and with you, we are giving you eight oil tankers, eight big oil tankers.' This happened three days ago, and I didn't pay much attention, but then on Fox News, which I was watching, they said, 'Something strange is happening. Eight ships are passing through the middle of the Strait of Hormuz. Eight large oil tankers full of oil are passing through.'"

He added, "I thought, 'Oh, is that so, it must have been real.'" He also stated that the vessels were flying the Pakistani flag and that he considered these passages a sign that negotiations with Iranian authorities were progressing in good faith.

Contrary to claims made by Iranian state media, the Iranian foreign minister, and the speaker of the Iranian parliament, President Trump has stated that the current negotiating parties are at the highest level and trustworthy.
