The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) officially kicked off on Thursday, the 26th, with calls for unity centered on President Donald Trump's policies ahead of the midterm elections.

Matt Schlapp, chairman of CPAC, and his wife, Mercedes Schlapp, a senior fellow at CPAC, implored the crowd gathered at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas, not to allow Democratic Party easy victories in the November elections due to conservative disagreements.

"We all need to remember this," Schlapp said during his opening remarks on Thursday. "Because the left, the hard left, the Marxists, the satanists, the communists—they love for us to fight amongst ourselves and call each other names."

Reverend Franklin Graham, the first speaker on stage, also urged unity to elect candidates who share the same values as President Trump.

Graham leads Samaritan's Purse, a faith-based international relief organization, and serves as president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, honoring his father.

"This is a very important time for not only our country but for everything that matters in the world," he said. "We are at war with Islamic republics. Not with the people of Iran. They are wonderful people."

Graham stated that while he does not belong to any political party, he is a conservative and, "above all else, a follower of Jesus Christ."

He praised President Trump, saying he "highly respects" him and has the "guts" to address issues that past presidents have deferred.

"He has stepped out to protect Israel and the Jewish people from the possibility of being annihilated by a nuclear attack from radical Islamic regimes," Graham said.

This highlights that the essence of the war with Iran is a war between Israel and Iran. The United States, as an ally of Israel, conducted Operation Epic Fury with the mission of supporting Israel.

He referenced the Book of Esther, saying, "God raised up Esther for just such a time as this to save the Jewish people from being destroyed by the Persians," and added, "We are so fortunate to have President Trump."

"I'm 73 years old, and I've never had a president in my lifetime like President Trump," he added.

He continued, "We will never have another president like him. And I believe that God has raised him up for such a time as this, just like Queen Esther."

Franklin Graham urged CPAC attendees to build a united front against the "socialist agenda," which includes abortion and transgender rights policies. He stated that these agendas are "born in hell" and go against God's word.

"I want to give you a word of caution," he said. "There is a problem with conservatives. That problem is 'unity,' or rather, the lack of unity. Sometimes it feels like we devour one another."

Graham emphasized, "Conservative leaders and influential figures need to present a united front. We seem to divide and attack each other too easily. We can discuss our differences, but we must do so respectfully, without attacking or demeaning the other person."

"That is for socialists who want to make America weak again," he added.

Graham pointed out that mainstream media outlets should be watched carefully because they sow seeds of doubt among people, and that podcasters and social media influencers should also be cautious as they profit from controversy through views and revenue.

He noted that while Trump's name is not on the ballot in this year's midterm elections, his policies are on the ballot, and said, "We must show unity and win these midterm elections. If we don't, we're finished."
