[Kim Tae-san Column] Korea's fate hinges on the victory or defeat in the Iran War

President Donald Trump's war with Iran is intended to curb communist forces such as China.

While people are incredibly diverse and come in all sorts, there are those who go too far, and I will point them out.

The reason for this is that just the other day, US President Donald Trump reportedly said, "The United States will now withdraw from Iran, so each country must handle the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz on its own."

As expected, the reactions of Koreans are also varied. Of course, pro-North Korean, pro-Chinese, and leftist (Jwapal) individuals who hate the United States are understandably hurling all sorts of curses.

However, I am writing this because even those who have identified themselves as conservative right-wingers are spewing the same venom as the leftists.

Trump's War with Iran is Meant to Curb Communist Forces like China

To quote their words directly, they say things like, "Trump, you clean up your own mess," "You're causing a pointless war and making us pay unnecessary transit fees," and "The US starts the war, but why are you now holding allies responsible?"

In my view, these people are absolutely not conservative right-wingers. They are "Jwapal" in disguise. If that's not the case, they are truly single-celled organisms like amoebas.

I interpret President Trump's remarks as follows:

First, President Trump is not truly planning to withdraw from Iran; rather, he is putting on a show to push allies who are only looking out for their own national interests and shying away from responsibility.

Second, this war with Iran is not solely about President Trump pursuing American interests. It was a grand strategy to thoroughly punish Iran and simultaneously deal with China, which is expanding its communist power through its "Belt and Road Initiative" ambitions, and the dangerous communist left-wing forces in South and North Korea, which are a threat to Northeast Asia.

Don't Expect the US to Deal with North Korea for Free

If this war with Iran is successful, the country that will benefit the most is South Korea. All conservative right-wingers have desperately wished for China's collapse. This is because if Communist China collapses and fractures, the leftists in Korea will also fall, and the Republic of Korea can stand tall.

Furthermore, if China crumbles, North Korea will also weaken, and consequently, the threat from North Korea will be significantly reduced. Seen in this light, this war with Iran is by no means a wrong war for the conservative right-wingers in South Korea.

Let's think about this. Do you believe China will collapse on its own if the United States doesn't intervene? Will Communist China naturally collapse if Xi Jinping disappears, as some crazy YouTubers claim?

No. If the United States does not act, China and North Korea will never see their communist systems disappear, even after many years; only their leadership will change. Instead, South Korea might fall under the control of Communist China or North Korea first.

If China, in alliance with Iran and North Korea, successfully implements the "Belt and Road Initiative" with its strong economic power, who can deny that countries like South Korea will instantly be reduced to vassal states and slaves of Communist China?

Yet, some who claim to be conservative right-wingers are criticizing the US war with Iran simply because oil prices have slightly increased. After doing so, they expect the United States to deal with South Korea's leftist regime and North Korea for free. In other words, they expect the US to clean everything up for them while they do nothing.

If the US military asks for help in dealing with North Korea in the future, these are the same people who will ignore the request, saying, "You started this war, so you deal with it yourselves." Where do the lives and blood of other countries' youth come for free? We must not forget that the fate of the Republic of Korea also hinges on the success or failure of the war with Iran.
