Reports continue to emerge that President Donald Trump is considering replacing Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence in the aftermath of the war with Iran.

These reports stand in stark contrast to the President's public statements about the Director of National Intelligence, JustTheNews reported on Thursday, the 2nd.

Citing "two people familiar with the discussions," Britain's The Guardian reported that President Trump has, over the past few weeks, polled his cabinet members about the possibility of replacing Representative Gabbard.

However, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) told JustTheNews, "President Trump has expressed his confidence in the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) over the past two weeks, stating that she has performed well in congressional hearings." The ODNI added, "She is doing her best to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to her by the President to protect the safety, security, and freedom of the American people."

Before taking office, Gabbard strongly criticized interventionist actions and wars in the Middle East. She has remained relatively silent on the war with Iran, fueling speculation about disagreements between her and the President on this conflict. 

One purported motivation for these claims is that Gabbard supported former Director of National Counterterrorism Joe Ketter, who resigned last month in protest of the war with Iran, asserting that the United States intervened in the war on behalf of Israel.

Sources close to the matter dispute the Guardian's claim that Gabbard supported Ketter, emphasizing that Gabbard acknowledged in her congressional testimony that some of Ketter's war-related statements were concerning. President Trump also told reporters that he thought Gabbard "did a good job" on Capitol Hill.

Notably, White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt denied reports that President Trump considered firing Gabbard at the end of March, immediately following Ketter's resignation.

"Not that I am aware of," Levitt stated. "That's a question you'd have to ask the President, and I've never heard the President say anything like that."

Following reports late last month that Representative Gabbard might resign in protest of the war, a source told the Daily Mail, "Everyone's got their guns pointed at Tulsi, which isn't really reflective of what's actually happening within the administration."

These reports come amid rumors that President Trump would dismiss Attorney General Pam Bondi. Bondi's replacement was officially announced on the 2nd.
