Speaking to NBC News, President Trump dismissed the incident as not having a significant broad impact on talks. He indicated that while military tensions are escalating, it would not affect negotiations.

According to U.S. officials cited by Reuters, the aircraft, identified as an F-15E, was shot down over southwestern Iran, indicating a significant broadening of the military operational area.

Both pilots ejected from the aircraft before it crashed, according to Reuters and Axios.

One pilot was rescued by U.S. forces following a search operation, while the other remains missing, with search efforts ongoing in hostile territory, Reuters reported.

Despite the rising tensions, President Trump's remarks demonstrate an effort to keep diplomatic channels open, even as the search for the missing pilot continues.

The Department of Defense has not yet issued a full official statement on the incident.
