President Yoon Suk-yeol issued a message from prison, saying, "Let us obey suffering and embrace the hope of salvation" for Easter. President Yoon released the "Message to the People on Easter, 4.5" through lawyer Bae Ui-cheol's Facebook page on the evening of the 3rd. 

President Yoon stated, "Jesus Christ completed the 'suffering of the cross' in obedience to God's will and was resurrected," adding, "Jesus' resurrection showed that if we overcome times of suffering, this land will be fully restored with freedom and truth."

He continued, "Even if the current times are difficult and challenging, I pray that this Resurrection Sunday will be a time for us to be reborn as children of God by obeying suffering and embracing the hope of salvation." He quoted the Bible verse, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith (1 John 5:4)." 

Lawyer Bae Ui-cheol explained, "There were many requests from citizens and young people who wanted to be encouraged by President Yoon's words this Easter." He added, "I conveyed this during my visit, and President Yoon, who always worries about the people and prays for them, has sent the following message to the people on the occasion of Easter, 4.5."
