Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared on Wednesday that a ceasefire and negotiations are "unreasonable" due to the United States violating the framework of the agreed-upon ceasefire agreement three times.

"In such a situation, a bilateral ceasefire or negotiation is unreasonable," he stated. However, Ghalibaf did not mention that Iran would not attend the scheduled talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, according to JDN.

The United States confirmed on Wednesday that it would send Vice President J.D. Vance as its representative to the Saturday talks, accompanied by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. However, the Iranian politician's remarks are likely to hinder the holding of the talks.

"The reason for our deep historical distrust of the United States is that the Americans have repeatedly violated all forms of promises, and unfortunately, this pattern is repeating itself once again," Ghalibaf said.

He added, "As the U.S. President clearly stated in 'Truth,' the 10-point proposal of the Islamic Republic of Iran is 'a viable basis for negotiation' and the main framework for these talks."

Ghalibaf is known as a key figure in negotiations with the United States. His statement claimed that the U.S. had agreed to a 10-point proposal that reflected demands previously disclosed by Iran.

The White House denied on Wednesday that it had agreed to Iran's terms, emphasizing that Iran had sent other proposals and that President Donald Trump had deemed those proposals "achievable."

However, Ghalibaf's statement appears to reflect the original 10-point proposal put forth by Iran. He specifically mentioned three violations of the agreement that align with Iran's original proposal.

Specifically, he claims that the U.S. violated the first clause of the agreement by not observing a full ceasefire and allowing Israel to continue fighting Hezbollah in Lebanon.

He also accused the U.S. of "denying Iran's right to uranium enrichment, which is included in the sixth article of the agreement," stating that a drone that entered Iranian airspace was destroyed in the city of Larestan in Fars Province.

"Despite the fact that a practical basis for negotiation has been laid, it has already been openly violated before the negotiations have even begun," he added.

Iran's airstrikes against Israel's Hezbollah attacks have also continued. Saudi Arabia announced it had intercepted and destroyed nine drones in recent hours, while the UAE reported intercepting 17 ballistic missiles and 35 drones.

The Kuwaiti military announced that it had intercepted 42 drones and 4 ballistic missiles launched since early Wednesday morning, some of which targeted oil facilities, power plants, and other critical infrastructure.

There were also reports in Bahrain of debris from intercepted Iranian drones falling into residential areas, causing casualties and damage.

A spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces stated that Iran had fired missiles towards Israel since the ceasefire went into effect.
