Clay Fuller, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump as the successor to former Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, won the special election in Georgia on Tuesday night, according to the Associated Press.

AP declared Fuller the winner with 54% of the vote to Democrat Shawn Harris's 46%, with 45% of the ballots counted.

In a statement released on Wednesday, President Trump fiercely criticized former Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, asserting that the newly elected Clay Fuller is "much better" than her.

Greene was a close ally of Trump during her tenure, but she gradually adopted a critical stance, deeming that he was drifting away from mainstream Republican politics. She resigned from her congressional seat during her term and subsequently became a strong critic of President Trump.

Trump posted on Truth Social, "The congressional seat of Marjorie 'Traitor' Greene (who turns green with rage), has been won by the great and talented Clay Fuller. He had a massive win from the beginning, despite many people running for the Trump +37 District seat, and despite the stench that Greene left behind."

He added, "Congratulations to Clay Fuller. Much better than the crazy former congresswoman."

Fuller won the special election for Greene's congressional seat on Tuesday night, defeating Democrat Shawn Harris.

His entry into Congress is expected to be a significant boost to House Speaker Mike Johnson, who has been struggling to maintain unity within the Republican Party's narrow majority, according to Just the News.
