A handwritten will by Kim Jin (67), former editorial writer for the JoongAng Ilbo, who jumped to his death from the Incheon Bridge on the 9th, has been released.

According to the will released by his family on the 13th, the former editorial writer stated before his death, "Due to personal circumstances (anxiety), I have lost the drive to live" and "I am ending it myself and departing for the unknown."

In particular, the former editorial writer, who worked his entire life as a journalist and commentator, said, "I apologize if there were any incorrect facts or flawed logic."

He continued, "I am grateful to everyone who supported me, a flawed individual," and left behind his reflections, "I was happy to be born in Korea and witness the essence of human life up close."

He also apologized to the rescue personnel and stated, "I have registered my advance directive for life-sustaining treatment," adding, "If I fall into a coma, please donate my organs."

The former editorial writer stopped his car near the pylon of the Incheon Bridge around 12:37 PM on the 9th and jumped. He was rescued by the Coast Guard and transported to the hospital, where he passed away.

After starting his journalism career at The Korea Times, the former editorial writer moved to the JoongAng Ilbo in 1986, serving as a political correspondent and Washington correspondent. He worked as an editorial writer from 2006 to 2016.

He briefly entered politics by joining the Liberty Korea Party (now the People Power Party) and subsequently became a prominent conservative commentator on broadcast and YouTube channels.
