Recent national poll results indicate that American voters continue to support President Trump's strong actions to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, with this support strengthening rather than weakening.

In an opinion piece for Newsmax, pollsters John McLaughlin and Jim McLaughlin stated, "Despite the constant assertions from the liberal media, the majority of voters believe that military action to protect American lives is justified."

The key findings from the national poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates among 1,000 voters from April 8th to 15th are as follows:

The majority of voters (52%) approved of military action to eliminate Iran's nuclear and missile programs, while 40% disapproved. This represents an increase in approval compared to the previous month's survey.

Among Republican supporters, 87% endorsed Trump's military action. 28% of Democratic supporters and 23% of voters who voted for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election also approved. It is noteworthy that there is bipartisan support.

Voters who directly watched President Trump's speech had a strong majority supporting military action at 67%, compared to 29% who opposed it. This contrasts with voters who rely on media reports, whose opinions are almost evenly split.

This contrast demonstrates a significant dynamic: when voters hear directly from President Trump, support sharply increases. However, when delivered through media reports, support declines.

"This is because the way the media reports distorts how voters understand the mission of this war," McLaughlin pointed out.

A total of 44% of all voters precisely identified the goal as stopping Iran's nuclear program.

However, among respondents who directly watched President Trump's speech, this figure rose to 59%, while it dropped to 38% among those who received information through news reports.

At the same time, misunderstandings such as "oil theft" or "regime change" are increasing among those who only receive media reports, McLaughlin noted.

McLaughlin further elaborated that reminding voters of Iran's long history as a rogue state, including killing Americans, taking hostages, and attacking U.S. military personnel, causes support for military action to surge to 59%, with only 32% opposing it.

Support for President Trump's military action against Iran has increased compared to last month, with particularly strong backing seen among Republicans, independents, Hispanic, and female voters.

Six out of ten voters responded that the U.S. "must finish this job completely" to prevent future conflicts. Only 30% disagreed.

A majority of voters, 61%, believe that Iran would use nuclear weapons against the U.S., its military, or its allies if given the opportunity. Only 20% disagree.

"They support their Commander-in-Chief," McLaughlin wrote. "The conclusion is inescapable. Despite media resistance, the American people offer firm support to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and expect that mission to be completed."

The margin of error for this poll is ±3.1 percentage points.
