The 'Stop Constitutional Amendment 1-Night, 2-Day Rally' began in front of Exit 2 of the National Assembly Station in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 6th, one day before the National Assembly's plenary session vote on the constitutional amendment bill, the first in 39 years.

This rally, held for 1 night and 2 days from 6:30 PM on the 6th to 10:00 PM on the 7th, is organized by the National Salvation Daegu Struggle Headquarters (Daetubon) and involves about 10 organizations, including the Republic of Korea Mothers Unit, Park Chung-hee Academy Alumni Association, National Election Commission Server National Movement Headquarters, Liberty Korea National Assembly, and Free Sovereignty Federation.

Choi Young-ho, head of Daetubon, who came all the way from Daegu by chartered bus, spoke as a lecturer and claimed, "The May 18th democratization movement has made South Korean democracy a lie," adding, "May 18th organizations must disclose their public records and speak out about the investigation into fraudulent elections."

Furthermore, former Kangnam University professor Kim Byung-joon pointed out, "It seems there is a reason why they are so urgently pushing for constitutional amendments," suggesting, "Could it be due to awareness of America's moves, such as U.S. President Trump appointing Michelle Steel as the U.S. Ambassador to Korea?"

The main contents of the constitutional amendment bill, which will be presented and voted on in the National Assembly plenary session tomorrow, the 7th, are: ➀ Explicitly mentioning the May 18th democratization movement and the Gwangju Democratization Movement in the preamble of the Constitution ➁ Strengthening the conditions for martial law and parliamentary control ➂ Balanced regional development.

For the amendment bill to be passed, more than two-thirds of the total number of lawmakers must approve. With the consent of the People Power Party being essential, patriotic conservative groups are seeking cooperation from the People Power Party.
