Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Liberty and Innovation Party, begins a hunger strike in opposition to constitutional amendment on May 6th.

I feel apologetic and guilty for writing these kinds of articles at home when I'm not doing anything, but someone has to speak up, so I am writing this.

The reason for writing is that Hwang Kyo-ahn, the leader of the Liberty and Innovation Party, has reportedly started a personal hunger strike in absolute opposition to the constitutional amendment. Of course, it is a good thing. There are many ways to fight, and fasting is indeed one of them. It is also true that many people support Representative Hwang's hunger strike.

However, I am writing this article after much thought, feeling very regretful and disappointed.

Hwang Kyo-ahn is, in fact, a significant figure. He has served as Prime Minister, acted as President, and led a conservative party. While there are various shortcomings that are regrettable, he is still the most prominent and promising figure among the conservative right wing for the future.

He has also fought bravely against the Lee Jae-myung administration, established a party, and accomplished significant things during his recent visit to the United States. The expectations the public places on Representative Hwang at this moment are immense.

Furthermore, the pro-North Korean and pro-China leftists, along with the Lee Jae-myung government, fear Representative Hwang Kyo-ahn and are closely watching his every move.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Hwang Kyo-ahn is a person with a historic mission intrinsically linked to the destiny of the Republic of Korea.

In short, Hwang Kyo-ahn is not someone who should be sitting alone on the asphalt protesting through a hunger strike. It is with such regret that I offer these critical words.

Let's be honest. Who would fear Hwang Kyo-ahn going out alone and starving, and who would be swayed by it?

Mr. Hwang, as the current party leader and a former Prime Minister, should not act alone. He should rally his party members and the general public to a protest against the constitutional amendment, surround the National Assembly, and fight with the resolve to fast for days and nights, risking their lives, with tens of thousands of people.

If Representative Hwang were to now appeal, saying, "Patriots, rise up and join me in this hunger strike against the miscellaneous constitutional amendment groups," there would likely be dozens, even hundreds, of patriots willing to follow him with a resolve to die.

Try surrounding the National Assembly in a relay style and making it a nationwide movement. A leader must know how to mobilize the masses.

There are far more patriots in the Republic of Korea than leftist traitors. However, because there is no leader to guide them, the conservative right wing has lost power and reached this point.

Why does Representative Hwang not consider mobilizing the public and instead try to act patriotically by himself? One person cannot achieve anything alone... I have written this article, which may be criticized, out of great regret.
