U.S. President Donald Trump fiercely criticized Iran on the 10th (local time), stating, "Iran has been playing games with the United States and the rest of the world for 47 years. Delay, delay, delay!"

President Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, "Then when Barack Hussein Obama became president, they finally hit the jackpot."

President Trump's remarks came two days after he said on the 8th, "I will probably receive a letter (from Iran) tonight, so we'll see what happens," indicating that he would soon hear Iran's response regarding the conditions for peace sought by the United States.

His comments are particularly noteworthy as the state-run Iran IRNA news agency reported on the same day that Iran's response to the U.S. proposal had been delivered to Qatar, the mediator.

Furthermore, President Trump criticized former President Barack Obama for being favorable to Iran during his presidency and for significant cash transfers from the U.S. to Iran.

This appears to refer to the fact that $400 million in cash, including Euros and Swiss Francs, was transferred from the U.S. to Iran in January 2016, shortly after the Obama administration signed the nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, JCPOA) with Iran.

The Obama administration's stance is that the money was sent as repayment for an obligation arising from the non-fulfillment of a U.S.-Iran arms sales contract signed before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. However, the Republican camp has raised suspicions that the cash payment was made as a ransom for the release of Americans detained in Iran around that time, in exchange for the nuclear deal.

Additionally, President Trump wrote about former President Obama, "He was a disaster as our leader but not as bad as Sleepy Joe Biden."
