As President Trump and Chairman Xi Jinping prepare for their summit in Beijing, the grand chessboard surrounding the Korean Peninsula will be reshaped according to Trump's intentions? The key point to watch is whether his strategy will shine clearly and pragmatically in this summit. After completing a 'strategic pruning' by severing the peripheral pillars supporting China's power (Venezuela and Iran), we hope for a win-win negotiation proposal that China cannot help but accept at the open US-China negotiation table.

Why Are We Searching for the Bluebird of Power Now?

In the fairy tale by Belgian writer Maurice Maeterlinck, the 'Blue Bird' symbolizes happiness. The children of a poor woodcutter, Tyltyl and Mytyl, wander the world in search of the 'Blue Bird,' only to realize in the end that the Blue Bird was in the cage within their own home. In May 2026, is there a metaphor that penetrates the security reality of the turbulent Korean Peninsula more exquisitely than the 'Blue Bird' fairy tale?

For a long time, in our pursuit of the bluebird of peace on the Korean Peninsula, we have traversed the mountains of national cooperation, navigated the seas of neutral diplomacy, sacrificed our senses of security, ceased broadcasts and leaflet distributions to North Korea, and even attempted a treasonous federalist system.

However, the harsh reality of international politics offers us a stern lesson. The bluebird of peace was, from the very beginning, within the sturdy house of the 'ROK-US Alliance.'

Will Trump Implant Freedom in China and North Korea?

Now, Trump will attempt to secure 'strategic acquiescence' from China regarding the North Korean issue. This is not a mere trade agreement. It is the prelude to a grand design to detach the entire Korean Peninsula from China's sphere of influence and integrate it into the US-led liberal order.

Within this blueprint, North Korea is no longer an 'axis of evil' to be eliminated, but is elevated to a manageable 'sovereign nation recovering its status after nuclear disarmament.' If Kim Jong-un chooses direct engagement with the US to solidify his succession and guarantee regime survival, US troops will be stationed in Pyongyang. Then, the hypothesis of national cooperation, to which the left-leaning governments clung so desperately, would collapse in an instant. The moment North Korea declares 'two hostile states' and turns away from dialogue, it suggests that the bluebird of peace chased by the pro-North Korea cartel never existed outside the house of the ROK-US Alliance.

Is South Korea the Architect of Free Unification or a Subject of Management?

We stand at a critical juncture. If the US detaches North Korea from China and integrates the entire Korean Peninsula into its order, South Korea can seize a massive opportunity, but a pro-China government could face a crisis. If we restore the value of the alliance and align ourselves with America's strategy, we will have the opportunity to pull North Korea out of China's shadow and reshape the security landscape of the Korean Peninsula under our leadership. We will become the architect of peaceful unification as stipulated in our constitution, eradicating the anti-state and treasonous elements we have witnessed and reclaiming a whole Korea.

However, if the current government wavers in the ambiguous territory between anti-Americanism and pro-China sentiment, South Korea will not be a partner in crafting the plan for Trump, but will be relegated to a 'subject of management' that must be kept from defecting to China.

How Can South Korea Become the Architect of Free Unification?

For South Korea to become the architect of free unification is not merely about subduing or absorbing North Korea. To make surrounding great powers willingly step into the 'system of peaceful power that is safe,' as designed by Korea, requires 'platform and foundational planning' and strong execution.

The peaceful unification of South Korea should not be a past approach that sacrifices even survival for the sake of peace with North Korea. The key is 'platform planning capability' that makes surrounding countries and North Korea willingly enter the 'coexistence system that is mutually beneficial, safer, and invests the entire world.' We must become 'great architects' who solidify the pillars of the alliance while directly developing the Peace OS that operates within it.

At the Beijing summit, we should not be begging, "Help Korea," but rather declaring, "Your national interests will be maximized by getting on this peace system (Platform) we have designed." We must thoroughly repair the pillars of the ROK-US alliance, the sturdiest house of alliance, and fill the operating software within it with a 'unification algorithm led by South Korea.' 

How to Make the Beijing Summit Results Favorable to Us?

The Beijing summit will be a crisis if the current government adheres to its pro-China stance, but it will be an opportunity to confirm the design for free unification if it shows a willingness to restore the ROK-US alliance, the eternal home of the bluebird. Peace can never be achieved or protected by slogans or good intentions. We must plant trees of win-win defense industry and let rivers of trust flow so that the bluebird of peace can fly freely in the land we have designed. We must ensure that the bluebird genuinely wants to stay by our side.

With the bluebird of power, the ROK-US alliance, settled in South Korea, China will now be watching us. The Korean Peninsula must become an 'essential aircraft carrier' in America's Indo-Pacific strategy and a 'logistics and technology corridor' essential for China's economic development, which will be divided.

Designs inevitably face resistance. The only way to overcome rough waves is to become surfers ourselves and decide the destiny of the Korean Peninsula.
