U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that the expansion of American companies' operations in China will be included in the agenda for the U.S.-China summit.
In a post on Truth Social on the 12th (local time), Trump listed the business leaders accompanying him and stated, "I will ask President Xi Jinping to open China up."
He added, "That will allow the great ones to work their magic and bring China up to a much higher level. We will be meeting in a few hours, and that will be my first request."
Regarding China's market opening, Trump emphasized, "I have never heard or seen a better concept for the benefit of our two incredible countries."
Trump denied reports that Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, was not included in the list of business executives visiting China, saying, "Jensen Huang is on Air Force One."
He listed the accompanying business leaders, including Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX; Tim Cook, CEO of Apple; Kelly O'Toole, CEO of Boeing; and Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, and said, "It is an honor to travel to the great country of China with them."
President Trump is visiting China for the first time in nine years. He is scheduled to arrive in Beijing on the 13th and will meet with President Xi at least six times during his three-day visit, including summit talks and a state dinner.
