The prosecution has issued a summary indictment for charges including violation of assembly and demonstration laws and obstruction of traffic against officials of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) who repeatedly occupied all lanes of Hannam-daero, the entrance to the presidential residence, from January 3 to 5, 2025.

The civic group Freedom Korea National Association announced on the 14th that the prosecution has issued summary indictments (fines) to a total of nine defendants in relation to the incident that occurred on January 5, among the cases they reported last year.

Specifically, summary indictments (fines) were issued to 5 individuals for charges of violation of assembly and demonstration laws and general obstruction of traffic, and to 4 individuals for general obstruction of traffic.

In response, the Freedom Korea National Association expressed disappointment with the prosecution's decision, stating, "It is difficult to avoid criticism that this disposition is a 'slap on the wrist' level that would be unimaginable for ordinary citizens."

Meanwhile, regarding officials of the "Group leading the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol in April 2025," who were sent to the prosecution on suspicion of violating the Law on the Collection and Use of Donations, the Seoul Mapo Police Station completed its investigation and forwarded the case to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office on May 13.

The case has been registered under '2026-hyung-je1****7' and a lead prosecutor has been assigned.
