Reports have emerged that an Iran-aligned Iraqi militia leader, recently indicted in the United States on charges related to attacks targeting Jews in the U.S. and Europe, had also planned to assassinate Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The U.S. daily New York Post reported on the 22nd (local time), citing sources, that evidence confirmed the Iraqi militia group "Kata'ib Hezbollah" commander, Mohammad Baqir Sadeq Dawood al-Sadi (32), had targeted Ivanka for assassination.

Al-Sadi is said to have formulated revenge plans targeting the Trump family after the U.S. drone strike in 2020 that killed Qasem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC's Quds Force of Iran.

Sources stated that al-Sadi had obtained maps showing the location and layout of Ivanka's Florida residence, as well as blueprints of the house.

He is known to have posted a map image of the area near Ivanka's home on his social media, writing, "Americans, look at this picture. Neither your luxurious mansions nor the Secret Service will protect you. We are currently in the surveillance and analysis phase. Our revenge is a matter of time."

Intifad Kanbar, who worked at the Iraqi Embassy in Washington D.C., claimed that al-Sadi had been heard saying after Soleimani's death, "Just as Trump burned our homes, we must burn Trump's home, and to do that, we must kill Ivanka."

The New York District Attorney's Office indicted al-Sadi on the 15th on charges including supporting a terrorist organization and conspiracy to use explosives.

Prosecutors believe al-Sadi directed or coordinated 18 acts of terrorism and attempted terrorism in the U.S. and Europe, including a firebombing at a synagogue in Belgium in March and a knife attack targeting Jews in London in April.

Al-Sadi was arrested in Turkey on the 15th and has since been transferred to the United States.

He was active as a core member of the Iran-aligned militia Kata'ib Hezbollah and the IRGC, served as a close associate of Soleimani, and is known to have maintained a close relationship with his successor, Commander Esmail Ghaani.

Ivanka converted to Judaism in 2009 upon her marriage to Jewish real estate developer Jared Kushner and served as a senior advisor to the White House during the first Trump administration.
