Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate for Seoul mayor, appeals for support from a campaign vehicle near Hyochang Park Station in Seoul on the 2nd. [Yonhap News]
Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate for Seoul mayor, appealed for votes on the 2nd, one day before the June 3rd local elections, emphasizing that Seoul is the last bulwark to check the Lee Jae-myung administration.
Starting his schedule in Yeouido, he virtually concluded his campaign events in Shinchon, targeting young voters, who are considered to have a stronger conservative leaning, while touring the southwestern and northern parts of Seoul.
Candidate Oh began his first on-site activity of the day by greeting commuters at Yeouido Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu.
He then held a press conference in front of Hyochang Park Station in Yongsan, stating, "A country where two sides check each other is safer than a country where one side takes everything," and pleaded, "Please go to the polling stations tomorrow and leave one 'final safety net' so that the Republic of Korea does not tilt entirely to one side. Please leave Seoul as the last bulwark."
He criticized Candidate Jung, saying, "By rejecting the opportunity to debate, you have completely failed to convey your vision for Seoul," and added, "The position of Seoul mayor is not a role that a candidate who solely relies on the president's coattails can ever handle."
He continued, "We cannot turn Seoul into a practice course for beginner drivers," and urged, "Candidate Jung, who is unprepared, should resign now."
Regarding the election situation, he described it as a "very close race" and emphasized, "I will run with all my might, feeling as if I am losing by 3-5% until the very last moment."

In his rally at Singok Market in Yangcheon-gu in the afternoon, he increased his attacks on President Lee.
He questioned President Lee's stance, asking, "Are you dreaming of becoming Putin?" referring to the President's raising of fairness issues at some broadcasters during a State Council meeting where he received a report on the performance of the Broadcasting, Media, and Communications Committee.
This was a comparison to Russian President Vladimir Putin's tough stance against critical media.
Candidate Oh asked President Lee, "I want to ask if you intend to perfectly seize not only local power but also media power through this election."
At a rally in front of Cityplex in Geumcheon-gu, he criticized President Lee's views on the media and appealed for support, saying, "Through tomorrow's vote, through your ballots, which are stronger than bullets, please help President Lee Jae-myung go down the right path."
From his Yongsan rally in the morning, he also wore a white t-shirt with 'Global TOP 3' written on it instead of the red vest with his name on it.
This showed his determination to make Seoul a 'Global Top 3 city' within the next four years if elected in this election.
Candidate Oh is scheduled to visit 13 districts on the last day of the campaign, in addition to the 12 districts he covered the previous day, out of Seoul's 25 autonomous districts.
Specifically, after meeting intensively with voters in Eunpyeong, Gangseo, Guro, Geumcheon, and Gwanak, he will conduct a final vehicle campaign at Shinchon in Seodaemun-gu before moving near Seoul City Hall to meet voters while walking through Gwanghwamun Plaza, the Garden of Gratitude, and Jongno's Youth Street.
According to his campaign team, Candidate Oh will have completed a total of 128 rallies and regional tours during the official campaign period by this day.

Although Jang Dong-hyuk, the standing election committee chairman, announced he would hold a 'finale' at Hongik University Station in Mapo-gu in the afternoon, it was reported that he would not hold a joint rally with Candidate Oh.
Candidate Oh stated, "I am focusing on people's livelihoods and presenting a vision to establish Seoul as a global top city, while the central party has spoken about the errors of the Lee Jae-myung administration at the party level." He added, "We will remain faithful to our division of roles until the end of the election."
