The polling station in Songpa-gu, Seoul, which experienced a ballot shortage on the June 3rd local election day, ultimately extended its voting hours until 10 p.m.

According to Yonhap News, the second polling station in Jamsil 7-dong, Songpa-gu, decided to extend the voting hours from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for those who received waiting tickets.

Earlier, the Seoul City Chapter of the People Power Party had protested through a press release, stating that the election management committee was attempting to retrieve the ballot boxes from this polling station while voters were waiting due to a shortage of ballots.

Amidst protests from People Power Party officials visiting the polling station, voting hours were extended to ensure that voters who lined up before 6 p.m. and waited due to the ballot shortage could exercise their right to vote to the fullest extent possible.

Election workers at this polling station also requested that a broadcast be made to apartment complexes nearby, urging some individuals who had received waiting tickets to vote, as they had not yet done so.

Consequently, the vote counting is also expected to be delayed.

Some citizens who visited the site strongly protested, arguing that the votes cast at this polling station should be invalidated.

One citizen urged others to "block the removal of the ballot boxes."
