Protests over the ballot shortage during the June 3 local elections are spreading to university campuses and civil society groups in Busan.
The 58th Student Council of Busan National University will hold a "Joint Action and Statement on the Infringement of the Right to Vote in the June 3 Local Elections at Busan National University" at 6 PM at Neokneokanteo, Sioalgwangjang, Busan National University, Geumjeong-gu.
The Busan National University statement is also aligned with movements on university campuses nationwide.
Student councils from 16 universities across the country, including Yonsei University, Korea University, Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Chonnam National University, and Busan National University, are scheduled to hold simultaneous statements on their respective campuses at the same time.
The number of protest rallies in the Busan region has also significantly increased compared to the previous day.
According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, a "Rally to Denounce the Election Commission and Urge a Re-election" will be held from 5 PM to 9 PM in front of the Busan Metropolitan Election Commission.
The number of registered participants is 500, an increase from the 300 registered for the same rally the previous day.

Compared to the previous day, when only one protest was reported in the Busan region regarding the ballot shortage, the backlash is spreading to university campuses, civil society, and politically inclined groups within just one day.
In Busan, ballots were insufficient at a total of 9 polling stations, and additional ballots were sent.
Voting was reportedly delayed for 10 minutes at the 7th polling station in Hwamyeong 1-dong.
