Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced on Friday the 12th that previously undisclosed documents related to U.S. government funding for 120 biological research laboratories in 30 countries, including Ukraine, would be released.
"To support President Trump's executive order to cease federal funding for dangerous genetic modification research globally and strengthen transparency and accountability, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) will continue to work with partners across the administration to identify the locations of these laboratories, the pathogens they possess, and the type of 'research' being conducted," Gabbard stated in an X (formerly Twitter) video.
In her announcement, Gabbard noted that intelligence agencies had previously warned of the high likelihood that U.S.-funded biological research laboratories exist in Ukraine and could be holding dangerous pathogens. As the war with Russia continues, these laboratories are vulnerable to Russian attack, occupation, or destruction.

According to the ODNI's announcement, a significant number of the 120 laboratories conducted research on highly contagious pathogens and "gain of function" studies with little oversight.
The documents released on this day indicate that 40 biological research laboratories were established and operated in Ukraine with U.S. support.
"Despite the clear potential for dangerous pathogen research in biological laboratories to have catastrophic effects worldwide, politicians and so-called health experts like Dr. Fauci, as well as individuals within the Biden administration's national security team, have deceived the American people about the existence of U.S. government-funded and sponsored biological laboratories and have threatened those who attempted to expose the truth," Gabbard stated in her release.
