"Investigation into Election Irregularities" is a Priority

"Despite the Court's Decision on Preservation of Evidence,

Why Did the Election Commission Dispose of Election Supplies?"

"From the moment they shouted 'Let's crack open the server,'

they have obstructed a legitimate 'truth-finding' process."

As South Korea's electoral democracy stands before a critical test of truth, Kim Jin-il, Supreme Council Member of the Liberty and Innovation Party, has made it clear that investigating past suspicions and uncovering the truth of "election irregularities" is a priority, rather than getting bogged down in discussions about by-elections.

In a post uploaded to his personal X (formerly Twitter) account (@jinil_official) early on the 16th, Supreme Council Member Kim emphasized, "380 ballot boxes are more important. The by-election is secondary." This is interpreted as a proposal that the most urgent task is to investigate whether there were "election irregularities," rather than discussing by-elections, as suggested by some in the political sphere.

He outlined the key points: "It is to re-examine the 380 ballot boxes at the Handball Stadium in Seoul Olympic Park to verify if the numbers match those announced by the Election Commission in its vote count results, and to confirm whether there were two types of ballots for the Seoul mayoral election."

Supreme Council Member Kim Jin-ilHe continued, "The investigation into election irregularities is most important. South Korea is just the beginning," and stressed, "'By-elections' are only possible after the 'investigation into election irregularities' is complete."

An hour later, in a new post, he once again drew attention by stating, "The reason the public is gathered at Seoul Olympic Park is because we want to confirm the Election Commission's misconduct through a 're-count'." He added, "Whether it was 'election irregularities' or 'sloppy elections,' we can only know after an 'investigation into the truth'."

He then pointed out, "Is it not extremely perplexing that the Election Commission disposed of election supplies even after the court ordered the preservation of evidence?" He continued, "Those whose right and left brains are twisted and whose common sense is paralyzed are still only talking about 'by-elections,' trying to cover up the truth. From the moment they shouted 'Let's crack open the server,' they have been blocking the call for a legitimate 'truth-finding' process."

Finally, Supreme Council Member Kim urged, "We must confirm through a 're-count' of the 380 ballot boxes," and called for a thorough investigation into the 'June 3rd Election Irregularities' case.
