U.S. President Donald Trump urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept an agreement on the Ukraine war ceasefire, stating that whether to implement the agreement reached after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin rests with Ukraine.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News following the U.S.-Russia summit in Anchorage, Alaska, which ended without an agreement, Trump said that finalizing the agreement, which was not reached today, "is up to Zelensky."

President Trump stated that an agreement was not reached today and emphasized, "Ukraine has to agree (to the ceasefire terms discussed by the leaders of Russia and the U.S.). President Zelensky has to agree."

When asked what advice he would give to President Zelensky, he responded, "Make a deal."

In addition, Trump, who had warned prior to this summit that Russia would face "severe consequences" if no agreement was reached, expressed a reserved view on sanctions against Russia, such as so-called "secondary tariffs" (tariffs imposed on major importers of Russian products like China).

When questioned about the "consequences" he mentioned regarding Russia, including the possibility of raising tariffs on China, President Trump said, "Because of what happened today (the U.S.-Russia summit), I don't think I need to think about that right now." He added, "I may need to think about it in two or three weeks, but I don't need to think about it now."

Furthermore, President Trump suggested that a follow-up meeting involving himself, President Zelensky, and President Putin would be pursued, asserting, "There is a significant possibility of reaching an agreement."

Ultimately, it appears plausible to infer that President Trump is focusing on demanding that Ukraine back down from its current position to achieve a ceasefire agreement in the Ukraine war, rather than increasing pressure on Russia through enhanced sanctions.

When asked by the host to rate the summit on a scale of 10, President Trump answered 10 and described his meeting with President Putin as "warm."

The interview, conducted by Sean Hannity, a prominent Fox News anchor, took place in the same venue immediately after President Trump's meeting with President Putin.
