Regarding National Assembly Speaker Jo Jeong-sik’s remark that "a constitutional amendment for the consecutive term of an incumbent president is a matter of public choice," People Power Party Representative Jang Dong-hyeok stated on the 30th, "Instead of claiming it is a conspiracy theory, it would end if the President just says the five syllables 'no consecutive term' himself," reiterating his demand for a direct statement from President Lee Jae-myung.

Representative Jang stated this at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, adding, "If he cannot say 'no consecutive term,' the public will soon move on to five new syllables: 'Impeach Lee Jae-myung.'"

Addressing the criticism from the ruling bloc that his party's offensive, which uses Speaker Jo’s remarks as a focal point, is a conspiracy theory, Representative Jang retorted, "(Democratic Party) Representative Song Young-gil also said it was wrong to advocate for a constitutional amendment for a consecutive term that includes the incumbent president; is Representative Song also a conspiracy theorist?" He added, "Former Representative Jung Chung-rae also said it seems Speaker Jo was caught by a reporter's question; doesn't that imply his true intentions slipped out while he was off-guard?"

He further criticized, "Everyone understood it as a constitutional amendment for a consecutive term including the incumbent president," and added, "When someone throws something out there and trouble arises, they cut ties, and when asked about it, the President just laughs and talks as if it were someone else's business."

Previously, Presidential Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik stated the day before, regarding Speaker Jo's remarks, that President Lee commented on a consecutive term by saying, "Our constitutional system does not allow it, the public would not tolerate it, and it is realistically impossible."

Meanwhile, regarding the inclusion of a new ground for dismissal of indictment during the process of passing the Criminal Procedure Act amendment—which centers on the full abolition of the prosecution's supplementary investigation rights—by the Democratic Party of Korea in the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Representative Jang criticized, "To save one man, Lee Jae-myung, they have created a four-tier judicial system, increased the number of Supreme Court justices, enacted a law against legal distortion, and even inserted an absurd clause to order judges to dismiss the indictment of Lee Jae-myung."

Furthermore, regarding the special counsel investigation into the ballot shortage crisis, he emphasized, "If the special counsel bill for the National Election Commission is not passed in today's plenary session and only the Criminal Procedure Act is passed, today might become the final day of the Lee Jae-myung administration."
