Secretary of State Marco Rubio of the U.S. Donald Trump administration announced that procedures are underway to deport foreigners who celebrate the death of Charlie Kirk, whom President Trump and the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement are mourning.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on the 15th (local time), Secretary Rubio stated, "America will not welcome foreigners who celebrate the death of our fellow citizens."

Secretary Rubio warned, "Visa cancellations are in progress. If you obtained a visa to come here and are cheering for the public assassination of a political figure, prepare to be deported. You are not welcome in this country."

In an interview with Fox News on the same day, Secretary Rubio also announced that visas would be canceled for foreigners celebrating Kirk's death on social media and that visa issuance would be restricted.

"A visa means you are a visitor to America. We have no intention of inviting people into our country who will engage in negative and destructive behavior," Secretary Rubio said.

He added, "We should not grant visas to people who come to America and do things like celebrate the killing, execution, or assassination of political figures. If they are already here, we must cancel their visas."

Key figures in the Trump administration and MAGA supporters have designated Kirk, a highly influential young activist in right-wing circles, as a victim of "far-left extremist forces" following his murder on the 10th, and have fiercely condemned those who viewed Kirk's death positively, hinting at retaliation.

Conversely, the progressive camp, while not endorsing political violence itself, points out that Kirk espoused white supremacist views during his life and incited hatred towards opposing groups.
