On the 7th (local time), the 2nd anniversary of the surprise terror attack by the Palestinian armed group Hamas on Israel, which triggered the Gaza war, the U.S. Donald Trump administration reaffirmed its support for Israel and vowed to eradicate anti-Semitism.
In a statement that day, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio pointed out that two years ago on this day, Hamas "murdered over 1,200 men, women, and children, including 46 Americans, in the most brutal terror attack in Israeli history."

He continued, "There can be no compromise with anti-Semitism. We continue to condemn all terrorism and anti-Semitism targeting Israel and urge the international community to stand with Israel on this painful day."
