Kim Byung-min, Seoul Metropolitan Government's Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs, delivers a welcome speech at the 75th anniversary of the recapture of Seoul, jointly hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Marine Corps Headquarters, at Seoul Plaza on the 28th. Yonhap News.
Kim Byung-min, Seoul Metropolitan Government's Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs, criticized Cho Kuk, the interim leader of the Rebuilding Korea Party, on the 3rd, stating, "While loudly advocating for progressivism, they are now showing the ultimate hypocrisy by, in their own words, depriving young people of opportunities that are equivalent to their own children, rather than reflecting on their actions."
The deputy mayor made these remarks in a Facebook post titled 'Chairman Cho Kuk, this is why young people are furious,' uploaded on the same day.
Deputy Mayor Kim pointed out, "Chairman Cho continues to make outrageously absurd claims. It's even poignant to see someone who was imprisoned on charges of college admissions fraud appearing on Kim Eo-jun's YouTube channel to talk about free school lunches from 15 years ago."
He continued, addressing Chairman Cho, "Is forging internship certificates and volunteer awards for one's child considered a progressive value? While it's pathetic to hear the outdated slogan about stealing teenagers' lunches, I'm speechless seeing you confidently offer advice without even understanding the cause of skyrocketing housing prices."
Deputy Mayor Kim also stated, "It is truly laughable for someone who owns a rebuilt apartment in Bangbae-dong to criticize private-sector-led reconstruction policies."
The deputy mayor further questioned, "While Chairman Cho expresses concern for young people's housing, why does he remain silent on the Lee Jae-myung administration's real estate policies? Young people are living day by day in the agony of soaring rents, with their housing ladder broken since the 10.15 measures."
Chairman Cho claimed on the YouTube broadcast 'Kim Eo-jun's Hard to Be Humble News Factory' that Mayor Oh Se-hoon tried to take away lunch from many teenagers by abolishing free school lunches in the past, and is now trying to take away young people's housing.
