According to Reuters on the 27th (local time), the UK Foreign Office stated that this measure was taken as a precaution due to the security situation and that embassy operations will be conducted remotely.
The Foreign Office added that the ability to assist British nationals in Iran is severely limited, and face-to-face consular assistance is not possible in emergencies.

The Foreign Office also stated that diplomats and their families in Tel Aviv, Israel, have been temporarily relocated to other areas within Israel.
China has also advised its citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran for security reasons and urged those residing in Iran to evacuate as soon as possible, reported the official Xinhua News Agency on the 27th (Friday).
Meanwhile, France has reiterated its advice to its citizens to avoid travel to Israel and the regions of Jerusalem and the West Bank for any purpose, including tourism and family visits.
