The documentary film "WHY: The Cartel," which investigates election fraud, began screening on the 25th in approximately 70 theaters nationwide, including CGV.

This documentary, which was released on YouTube in September 2023 before President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law, generated significant attention. The "WHY" in the title refers to the character "歪" (wai), meaning crooked or distorted, signifying the film's intent to fully expose the forces and their cartel that have distorted the truth of the election.

At a preview screening last Saturday, lawyer Park Ju-hyun stated, "Right after martial law was declared, I visited President Yoon at his residence in Hannam-dong, and at that time, I recommended he watch 'WHY: The Cartel'."

Approximately 20 days later, President Yoon called Ms. Park with questions and has since contacted her whenever further questions arose.

What sets "WHY: The Cartel" apart from previous election fraud documentaries is its emphasis on presenting direct physical evidence and then conducting meticulous analysis of that evidence to refute the claims made by the National Election Commission.

The National Election Commission released explanatory videos regarding ballots suspected of being counterfeit, such as those with cabbage leaves, Japanese flags, or unusually large blank margins. This documentary, however, delivers what is known as "fact bombing"—an irrefutable refutation—of the NEC's explanatory videos.

Furthermore, the vivid testimonies from various witnesses who observed the re-examination process during election invalidation lawsuits add to the film's persuasiveness.

A representative from the production company, Teul Media, stated, "Despite being the most incisive investigation into election fraud, the film is facing disadvantages in theater allocation due to its documentary genre and the added prejudice of being a right-wing film. We kindly ask you to contact theaters in your area and request screenings."

They also added, "Another option is group viewing. If a certain number of people gather, it is possible to rent out a theater. We ask for your support through various methods to ensure a large audience."

Director Kkappukka, who directed "WHY: The Cartel," stated the film's purpose: "Through this film, we hope that many citizens will realize the truth about election fraud and that it will serve as a catalyst for a nationwide uprising."

The production company added a note requesting continued interest from their "right-wing comrades," as early low attendance could lead to an early discontinuation of screenings.

Meanwhile, there was an incident involving a venue change for the official preview screening of "WHY: The Cartel." Prior to the screening, the production company posted an apology to 300 applicants, sharing the circumstances. The full apology is as follows:

Apology Regarding Venue Change for the Official Preview Screening of "WHY: The Cartel"

The venue for the "WHY: The Cartel" preview screening has been moved from CGV Shinsegae Gyeonggi to CGV Ori (Ori Station on the Suin-Bundang Line).

The reason for holding the official preview screening in a regional location, rather than at the headquarters of the three major cinema chains in Seoul, stems from our gratitude to the residents of Yongin who have organized group viewings of patriotic films over 30 times.

We initially proposed the official preview screening to CGV Suji, a theater that has hosted our group viewings, but it was rejected by the headquarters. We then managed to secure CGV Shinsegae Gyeonggi as the venue.

However, shortly after distributing the preview screening application forms, police contacted both Shinsegae Department Store Gyeonggi and CGV.

CGV headquarters checked the list of participating celebrities for the preview screening and raised concerns about holding a rally and watching the film.

We agreed to adhere to the instruction to limit the stage greeting within the theater to 15 minutes, which would have allowed the screening to proceed. However, this afternoon, Shinsegae Department Store suddenly instructed us to move the official preview screening to another theater that does not have a department store.

Although CGV is an affiliate, due to their contractual relationship with department stores where CGV is located, they stated they could not refuse the proposal from Shinsegae Department Store and informed us of the final decision to move the screening to CGV Ori, which does not have a department store.

We sincerely apologize for moving the official preview screening venue to CGV Ori on March 21st.
