The voices of citizens demanding enhanced election transparency echoed through Seoul Station Plaza.
The National Movement to Expose the National Election Commission Server (Server-kka, Representative Jang Jae-eon) announced an emergency demand on the afternoon of the 28th at a rally in Seoul Station, stating, "Immediately implement the personal seal impression of the advance voting manager."
"How can we trust printed seals... they must be personally stamped"
Rally participants strongly criticized the current method where the manager's seal is printed on advance voting ballots and emphasized three key points:
◇ Ensuring Transparency: Enhancing visual verification of the ballot issuance process.
◇ Strengthening Accountability: Clarifying administrative responsibility through the manager's personal seal impression.
◇ Restoring Public Trust: Resolving public skepticism about election fairness.
Key figures, including Dr. Jang Jae-eon and Professor Lee Jae-bong, urged the government and the National Election Commission to take action in their congratulatory speeches, stating, "As stipulated in the Public Official Election Act, the manager personally stamping their seal is the first step towards establishing electoral justice."
The event, which began at 3 PM, was followed by a street march departing from Seoul Station Plaza around 4 PM and proceeding to Exit 1 of Myeongdong Station. This rally saw broad participation, from the 2030 youth generation to experts from various fields, and participants declared their intention to continue their activities until their demands are met.
