Interview with Foreign Media During US CPAC Attendance… Reported by OANN

"Generations in their 40s and 50s, who were anti-American in their youth, are negative towards the US…

Generations in their 60s and 70s, and 20s and 30s are friendly towards the US," pointing out polarization.

Ideological divide between generations, the damage of the 'Jeonggyojo' generation exposed to the US.

At a time of strengthening North Korea-China alliance, the Chinese Communist Party is a threat to South Korea.

"South Korea and the US should focus on North Korea's denuclearization, not denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula…

The South Korea-US relationship is decisive and important for defending against North Korea and China."

Hwang's departure from the People Power Party and founding of a new party edited out of the 4-minute broadcast…

Due to OANN facing a massive lawsuit over election fraud reporting.

Possibility of additional reporting on Hwang's interview depending on changes in South Korea's political situation.

"The Democratic Party does not seem to prefer the basic values of liberal democracy…

The People Power Party, a right-wing party, turning a blind eye to election fraud is a bigger problem."

"External help is desperately needed to prevent the communization of South Korea with the left-wing gaining power."

Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Freedom and Innovation Party, appealed to the United States and the international community, stating that the US must help South Korea, which has a significant left-wing population, counter the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

In an interview with the One America News Network (OANN or OAN) broadcast on the 2nd (local time), former Prime Minister and Chairman Hwang Kyo-ahn emphasized, "The 40s and 50s generations are anti-American and negative towards the US, but the 60s, 70s, 20s, and 30s generations are friendly towards the US."

Specifically, Chairman Hwang stated, "South Korea has traditionally had a significant left-wing presence," and explained to the international community through the US broadcast the unique reality faced by the divided Korean society: "When the generations in their 40s, 50s, and 60s were young, they participated in many anti-American movements. Therefore, many people in these generations are left-wing and hold negative views towards the US."

He continued, "However, conservative individuals over their mid-60s, and young people up to their early 30s, hold positive views towards the US, and this is directly reflected in politics." He then explained the issue of differing ideological orientations between generations in South Korea and the harmful effects of the so-called 'Jeonggyojo' generation, who have been indoctrinated by left-wing education.

Chairman Hwang's response was in reply to a question from the OANN anchor: "We've been discussing the threats to South Korean democracy; do you see any parallels between what's happening in Seoul and what conservatives here in the US are concerned about?"

This question was interpreted as alluding to the situation in the US after the 2020 presidential election, where citizens who raised reasonable doubts about election fraud were labeled as far-right and had to endure a period of hardship until President Donald Trump's potential re-election.

Following this, when the OANN anchor asked how South Korea and the US should respond to the strengthening alliance between North Korea and China, Chairman Hwang provided a detailed explanation of why China poses a more immediate threat today than Japan, which occupied Korea in the early 1900s.

Chairman Hwang stated, "Fundamentally, North Korea has invaded our country," adding, "However, China has also invaded our country, and this happened during the Korean War in 1950."

He continued, "Japan occupied Korea in 1910, but China sent troops in 1950 to prevent Korea from winning the war, indicating such a relationship. While South Korea-Japan relations are normalizing to some extent, China remains a communist state and maintains a politically hostile relationship with South Korea."

Although OANN conducted a discussion with Chairman Hwang about his departure from the People Power Party for remaining silent on election fraud and his subsequent founding of the new Freedom and Innovation Party to fight for election justice, this topic was edited out of the approximately 4-minute broadcast.

This is believed to be due to OANN's specific circumstances. OANN, along with outlets like Newsmax, is one of the few media organizations in the US that has investigated election fraud issues and has faced significant challenges, including massive lawsuits and various forms of oppression during the Biden administration.

It is presumed that countless videos have been deleted or hidden due to external pressure during this process. Many videos frequently posted by "SCIF," a social media platform specializing in tracking US election fraud, are from OAN's reporting around the 2020 US presidential election. However, on OANN's website, only a video from 2021 about former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz's claims of election fraud is searchable, indicating that much of its past reporting content is not being displayed.

OANN's struggles are not limited to the period of the US presidential election fraud controversy. In 2023, OANN was sued twice by Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic concerning allegations of vote manipulation where millions of President Trump's votes were supposedly transferred to Joe Biden in the 2020 US presidential election, and paid a hefty settlement in a lawsuit filed by a former Dominion executive.

The exact amount was not publicly disclosed but is known to be astronomical. In early 2023, Fox News paid a settlement of $787 million in a lawsuit filed by Dominion. At the current exchange rate as of April 2026, this is equivalent to 1.1877 trillion Korean won.

OANN's fight is not yet over. In April 2024, it was also sued by Smartmatic for a substantial amount. Smartmatic is suspected of being a concentration of criminal technology that was developed and operated by Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, who was apprehended in pajamas and extradited to the US early this year. It is alleged that this technology, protected by US Democratic Party members who received bribes from Maduro, was implanted in the US and prevented the re-election of the current US president. The Trump administration is making a final effort to investigate this matter.

Meanwhile, according to a YouTube channel video by lawyer Park Joo-hyun, who live-streamed Chairman Hwang's interview with OANN in the US, Chairman Hwang emphasized, "What South Korea and the US should share is not the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, but the denuclearization of North Korea, and the South Korea-US relationship is decisive and important for defending against China and North Korea."

Furthermore, Chairman Hwang requested that attendees at CPAC from the US and various countries: first, unite in their efforts to solidify the wavering South Korea-US relationship; second, recognize that election fraud in South Korea, similar to that in the US, is a grave situation in a regime war; and third, acknowledge that South Korea's political forces alone are insufficient to prevent the rise of the left-wing and the path to communization, thus requiring external assistance.

In addition, the background behind the founding of the new Freedom and Innovation Party was also revealed, suggesting that OANN may potentially add the interview content excluded from this broadcast to future reports or use it as background footage in regular news segments, depending on the changes in South Korea's political situation.

Chairman Hwang stated, "The Republic of Korea is in confrontation with North Korea and is surrounded by unfriendly nations such as China and Russia. This influence is reflected in South Korea's political sphere, and it appears the Democratic Party does not greatly favor the basic values of liberal democracy."

He particularly lamented, "A bigger problem is that the People Power Party, which is supposed to be a right-wing party, lacks significant effort in upholding its values. At this moment, the most crucial issue is the fight against election fraud, but the People Power Party shows no interest, does not fight, and even attacks those who speak the truth about election fraud." He added, "The country is crumbling, yet they are just watching, which led me to leave the party and form a new one to uphold the political ideology I believe in," explaining the background and aspirations for founding the party.
