  • Condemnation of Political Interference in Investigations and Call for Defense of prosecutorial Independence

 

A rally will be held to support the independence of the prosecution against political pressure.

 

Civic groups, including the Freedom Korea Homeland Corps, will hold a 'Rally in Support of Prosecutors Against Political Interference by Criminal Politicians' on Tuesday, April 21st, at 11:30 AM in front of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in Seocho-dong, Seoul.

 

This rally was planned out of concern that ongoing major investigations could be hampered by political pressure. Oh Sang-jong, representative of the Homeland Corps, stated, "Politicians accused of crimes are using their power to pressure prosecutorial investigations," and called for unwavering and thorough investigations.

 

The organizations participating in the rally include the Freedom Korea Homeland Corps, as well as △Voter Revolution △ROTC Alumni Association of the Republic of Korea for Patriotism △Dr. Oi △Central High School Patriotism Alumni Association △Free Citizens in Action △Youth Forum Start.

 

The organizers emphasized that this event is being held with the aim of establishing the foundation of the rule of law, separate from any particular political faction, and requested the public's keen interest and participation.

 

The rally will take place in front of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, located 200 meters from Exit 7 of Seocho Station on Subway Line 2, and will continue every Tuesday until the demands are met. The event will feature speeches by the representatives of the organizations and a chant urging the prosecution to maintain political neutrality.
