A 40-year-old American man, identified as Mr. A, who had gone missing in the Namsan area of Seoul, was found 15 hours after a missing person report was filed.
According to Yonhap News's comprehensive reporting on the 19th, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul found Mr. A on a Namsan hiking trail around 3 p.m. while searching for him.
Mr. A had reportedly sent text messages to acquaintances the day before saying "I'm going to die" and then cut off contact, disappearing with a weapon.
At the time of his discovery, Mr. A was in possession of a weapon but showed no signs of health issues.
It was also confirmed that Mr. A, who was unemployed, had a history of taking antidepressants.
The police, who received the missing person report around 12:30 a.m. that day, requested the cooperation of the fire department in the search, conducting a search for about 15 hours with the special rescue team.
