Attorney Gordon Chang, an expert on Northeast Asia in the United States, has made strong statements questioning the legitimacy of the Lee Jae-myung administration. 

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on the 9th (US Eastern Standard Time), Attorney Gordon Chang reiterated his stance, stating, "Yoon is the real president of Korea. Lee is the illegitimate one." 

He then criticized the Lee Jae-myung administration's anti-human rights actions, writing on the same day, "Lee Jae-myung is directly responsible for the injuries inflicted on President Yoon yesterday while Yoon was in custody." 

He also directly attacked, retweeting a composite image that seemed to show Xi Jinping supporting Lee, saying, "China Lee is going down." 

Furthermore, he questioned by retweeting a post from Dr. Tara O, asking, "Lee Jae-myung rules like China’s proxy. Is he Beijing’s agent?" 

A summons from police to the University of Liberty.  Dr. Tara O, a Korean-American and former US Air Force officer, criticized on X, stating, "The Lee Jae-myung administration 'investigates/harasses' the University of Liberty for insulting a Chinese envoy. The University of Liberty has been holding rallies demanding an investigation into election fraud and the expulsion of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It is impossible to doubt who the Lee Jae-myung administration is working for." 

Previously, on July 22nd, the University of Liberty received a summons from the police on July 30th for tearing down the Chinese flag in front of the Chinese embassy. In contrast, while the Korean University Student Alliance (Daejinryeon) tore up a photo of US President Donald Trump in front of the US embassy on the 31st, there have been no reports of the police demanding their appearance. 

Amidst widespread public opinion that this is significantly unfair, some have even unreservedly criticized the administration as a "crazy regime," drawing attention to whether the administration will implement policy improvements to quell public backlash.
