Doctor of Confucian Philosophy 

The 80th anniversary of Liberation is a noble day when the Korean people were freed from Japanese rule, and it is the starting point of the history of liberal democracy in the Republic of Korea.

However, an event scheduled to take place at Gwanghwamun Square on August 15, 2025, seeks to tarnish this sacred day. It is called the 'National Appointment Ceremony'.

When a president is elected, they have already received the 'appointment of the people,' and the process concludes with the oath of office. In presidential systems like those in the United States and the Republic of Korea, there is no precedent for receiving a separate 'National Appointment Certificate'.

Yet, Lee Jae-myung, two months into his term, insists on holding a 'National Appointment Ceremony' on Liberation Day. This is an unprecedented political show that destroys the constitutional order and the common sense of democracy.

This is not a mere event. I define this 'National Appointment Ceremony' as a declaration of national enslavement.

Just as Chávez bound the people of Venezuela to poverty and state rations to brainwash them, Lee Jae-myung is undermining the dignity of the people through livelihood support funds and various cash handouts.

With more than half the nation suspecting the June 3rd general election as fraudulent and not recognizing his victory, with what face can he borrow the name of 'the people' to hold an appointment ceremony?

We must ask:

• Will we become a people who, though poor like Venezuela, wait for state ration coupons?

• Or will we become wise citizens like Switzerland, who rejected a basic income of 3.8 million won through a referendum?

Only by choosing the latter path can we avoid becoming sinners before our descendants.

Look at history. True leaders, like Churchill who demanded blood, sweat, and tears, present a path of hardship to protect the nation.

Conversely, dictators make the people lazy with sweet cash and populism, and their power degenerates into long-term rule. To which side does Lee Jae-myung's current actions belong?

The choice of the people will divide history.

Liberation Day is a day to commemorate the founding and freedom of the Republic of Korea.

However, in the event organized by the Lee Jae-myung government, Syngman Rhee, a key figure in the establishment of the government in 1948, disappears, and only Kim Gu appears. This is historical bias that denies the liberal democratic system of the Republic of Korea and distorts the truth of its founding.

We can never tolerate this behavior, which attempts to make even history a mere ornament of power.

On this day, we must clearly record: August 15, 2025, was the day when the people were not treated as sovereign citizens, but an attempt was made to issue a proclamation appointing them as 'slaves' for the sake of prolonging political power.

Citizens, now is not the time for silence. Inform your acquaintances of this proclamation and raise your voices together at this historical turning point.

Let us reject the fraud of the 'National Appointment Ceremony' for the sake of our freedom, dignity, and the future of our descendants.
