A clear, solid line visible on the side of the ballots raises suspicions of electoral fraud.Attorney Do Tae-woo, acting as legal counsel for petitioner Cheon Young-gi in the Tongyeong mayoral election recount regarding the June 3rd election, stated that various irregularities—including discrepancies in the number of voters and improper ballot storage—were confirmed during the recount held yesterday. He has urged the Election Commission to conduct an objective, follow-up investigation into the evidence.

On the 28th, attorney Do Tae-woo announced via his Facebook page, "I attended the Tongyeong mayoral election recount held yesterday (the 27th) at the Gyeongsangnam-do Election Commission as legal counsel for petitioner candidate Cheon Young-gi," adding, "During the counting process, we identified discrepancies in the number of voters, inadequate sealing and storage conditions, abnormal physical forms of early voting ballots, and inconsistencies between the voting records and the actual ballots."

Attorney Do stated that he would formally request five key measures in writing from the Gyeongsangnam-do Election Commission to fully resolve the raised suspicions.

The official requests include: ① verification of the original scanned ballot images; ② inspection of the continuity between ballot stub serial numbers and the remaining ballots; ③ provision of a copy of the video footage recorded at the recount table; ④ verification of whether the ink marks were stamped or printed using a portable microscope; and ⑤ sample verification of whether those listed as early voters on the registry actually cast their ballots.

Attorney Do also released photos he personally took at the recount site showing bundles of out-of-district early voting ballots. The side of the ballots in the photos shows a clear, solid line that has drawn attention for raising suspicions of election fraud.

He emphasized, "In an election, a single vote is not just a number; it represents a person's sovereignty," adding, "Every single digit must match perfectly, and the integrity of all ballots must be proven from storage through to verification."

He further added, "Instead of ignoring the raised concerns, the Election Commission must provide clear answers that the public can accept through objective data and additional investigations."
