Amidst a rising anti-immigration sentiment in Britain, women clad in pink clothing and hats, carrying pink flags, have taken center stage in street protests.
These women are part of a civilian group called 'Pink Ladies,' who, with their vibrant attire, are staging protests across the UK, claiming that illegal immigrants pose a danger to women and girls.
On the 12th (local time), CNN reported on the Pink Ladies, who have become the new face of anti-immigration protests in Britain, relaying the atmosphere of a protest in Chelmsford last month.
At the time, the Pink Ladies participating in the protest vocalized their concerns, stating that Britain is "being invaded" by immigrants and that "the army should be mobilized to stop them."
They coordinated their outfits in pink, from raincoats to bags, hats, and flags, even using pink lighting. Their pet dogs were also dressed in pink.
While the group does not explicitly endorse any specific political party, nearly all of its members reportedly intend to vote for the Reform UK party, a right-wing populist movement. Reform UK has championed anti-immigration policies, pledging to deport a large number of illegal immigrants if they come to power.
The origins of the Pink Ladies trace back to Epping, Essex, in the UK this past summer.
As asylum seekers were housed in hotels across various locations in Britain, resident opposition erupted in numerous areas.
Subsequently, when an asylum seeker from Ethiopia was indicted on charges of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and others at the Bell Hotel in Epping, local residents' anger surged.
An online anti-immigration protest was organized on July 17th, escalating into clashes between some male protesters and the police.
Observing this, female residents of Epping felt the need to demonstrate that they were a "community in fear" rather than "racist rioters" and proposed a new tactic.
The suggestion was for the men to stay home, and for women dressed in pink to lead and form the core of the protests.
Thus, the Pink Ladies, composed entirely of women, have been protesting in front of hotels housing asylum seekers across the UK since this summer, expressing concerns about women's safety.

On their website, the Pink Ladies describe themselves as "grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and daughters concerned about the future of our country due to mass immigration, particularly illegal immigration," and a "grassroots movement composed of thousands of women who have voluntarily come together from all over the country."
They are reportedly composed primarily of middle-aged white women.
Some have pointed out that the Pink Ladies may be associated with racism or white supremacy.
Andrea Simon, Director of the End Violence Against Women Coalition (EVAW), a UK-based women's organization, argued that "far-right groups have for a long time promoted racist and white supremacist agendas under the guise of ending violence against women and girls."
