Jang Dong-hyuk, the leader of the People Power Party, is accelerating his efforts to expand the party's reach half a year before the local elections. 

He is simultaneously pursuing change and reform by strengthening engagement with young people and even considering the possibility of changing the party name. 

According to political circles on the 19th, Jang recently stated, "For the People Power Party to be reborn, we need to re-establish conservative values. If a party name change is necessary in that process, it can be considered." 

Various opinions are reportedly being exchanged within the leadership regarding whether to actually conduct a vote. The discussion on changing the party name is intertwined with internal party voices demanding reform and a redefinition of the party's direction. It is reported that Jang has been meeting with several lawmakers recently to hear their opinions on the party's future course and strategy. 

The most notable change in Jang's recent activities is his approach towards young people. Jang participated in a coal briquette delivery volunteer activity with young people in Hwajeon Village, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, and personally attended a debate hosted by the People Power Party's Policy Committee on establishing a "re-employment extension system without a reduction in youth jobs" to lend support to policy discussions. 

In addition, on the 11th, he launched the "2030 Critical Feedback Special Committee" to create a channel for incorporating the opinions of the younger generation into the party's discussion structure. The People Power Party has also been continuing its solidarity efforts by co-sponsoring the "Special Prosecutor Bill for the Unification Church" with the Reform Party recently. 

Political circles view Jang Dong-hyuk's recent actions as part of a strategy to expand the party's reach ahead of the local elections. 

The analysis suggests an attempt to appeal to the centrist and youth demographics in addition to managing the existing support base. In particular, this engagement with youth reflects a realistic awareness of the need for inclusivity and solidarity with the future generation for a conservative party, and it is interpreted as a strategic choice considering the party's sustainability.
