Deputy Secretary of State Blinken says in Fox News interview, "Hundreds of thousands of documents to be released."

Deputy Assistant Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that Justice Department records related to Jeffrey Epstein will be released to Congress in stages, starting Friday and continuing over the next several weeks.
Indeed, the Justice Department has released the initial documents through its website at https://www.justice.gov/epstein. The website experienced a surge in traffic causing an outage, and a notice was posted stating, "This repository may contain descriptions of sexual violence. Therefore, some of the content in this repository may not be suitable for all users."
According to a law previously passed by Congress, the Justice Department is mandated to release documents related to Jeffrey Epstein within 30 days of the law's enactment. That deadline was Friday, the 19th.
President Trump signed the bill into law on November 19th.
Epstein, a convicted sex trafficker who had ties to some of the world's most powerful figures before his death, died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. He had pleaded guilty in 2018 to procuring a minor for prostitution in Florida.
In an interview with Fox News on the 19th, Deputy Assistant Attorney General Blanche said the Justice Department would release "hundreds of thousands" of documents that day, with "hundreds of thousands more to be released in the coming weeks."
He added that the Justice Department would need to redact names and identifying information of witnesses.
Blanche explained, "Today is the 30th day, and we are going to release hundreds of thousands of documents. These documents will be in various forms, including photographs, and will contain all investigative materials related to Epstein."
He stated, "What we are doing is reviewing every single document that we release to ensure that the names, identities, and testimony of each victim are fully protected, where protection is needed. Therefore, we anticipate additional documents will be released in the coming weeks. We expect hundreds of thousands today, and hundreds of thousands more in the coming weeks."
The Justice Department has not provided much detail on how it will comply with the law, which requires the department to release "all non-exempt records, documents, communications, and investigative materials" concerning Epstein and his convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell in a "searchable and downloadable format."
The law also requires the Justice Department to declassify the files "to the maximum extent possible." While the department may redact or withhold records that "could compromise ongoing federal investigations or prosecutions," it prohibits omissions based on "embarrassment, public disrepute, or political sensitivity."
Before signing the bill, President Trump had directed then-Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Epstein's ties to prominent Democratic figures. This has raised concerns that the administration could use ongoing investigations as a pretext to withhold or redact certain records.
Attorney General Bondi stated last month that the Justice Department "will comply with the law with maximum transparency while protecting victims."
As President Trump signed the bill, he accused Democrats of using the "Epstein case" to try to tarnish the achievements of his administration. He has repeatedly called the case a "hoax" throughout his term.
According to JustTheNews, the federal Justice Department stated in July that it held over 300 gigabytes of data and physical evidence related to Epstein, including more than 10,000 images and videos of pornography and illegal child sex abuse material.
