U.S. President Donald Trump stated on the 23rd (local time) that he had engaged in dialogue with Iran, but the Israeli military announced that it had launched an airstrike on Iran's capital, Tehran.

Approximately 50 minutes after President Trump posted on Truth Social that the United States and Iran had productive discussions over the past two days, the Israeli military announced via its Telegram channel, "According to preliminary reports, we are currently conducting airstrikes on targets of the Iranian terrorist regime in the heart of Tehran." Specific strike locations and scale were not disclosed.

Considering that it takes about two hours and 30 minutes for a fighter jet to take off from Israel and fly to Tehran, including aerial refueling time, the operation likely commenced before President Trump's "surprise announcement." During the two days when the U.S. was reportedly in dialogue with Iran, Israel conducted intense airstrikes against Iran, and on the 21st, together with the U.S., it bombed nuclear facilities in Natanz, Iran.

Reuters, citing anonymous sources, reported that Israel would also suspend attacks on Iran's power plants and energy facilities for five days in accordance with President Trump's directive.

Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported that residential buildings and other facilities in Khorramabad in western Iran were hit by attacks from the U.S. and Israel on the morning of the same day, resulting in the deaths of nine people, including teachers and students, and injuring 45.

Furthermore, Iranian media reported that the meteorological office in Bushehr in the south was attacked, and the meteorological officer at Bushehr Airport was killed.
