Iran has reacted negatively to the United States' conditions for ending the war, Iran's state broadcaster Press TV reported on the 25th (local time).
In an interview with the media, a senior Iranian political and security official stated, "We are aware of the details of the U.S. proposal," and added, "Iran will not allow U.S. President Donald Trump to unilaterally decide the timing of the war's end."
The official emphasized, "Iran will end the war at a time it decides, when the conditions we have set are met." He also added that Iran will maintain its defensive posture and deliver a strong blow to the enemy until its demands are met.
The official further criticized that while the U.S. is attempting negotiations through various diplomatic channels, its proposals are excessive and "do not reflect the reality of the U.S. side's failure on the battlefield."
The official also referred to two rounds of negotiations last spring and winter, describing them as "deceptive." He claimed that at the time, the U.S. launched military attacks on Iran immediately after the negotiations, without genuine willingness to engage in dialogue.
Therefore, Press TV reported that Iran has rejected the U.S. proposal, conveyed through a friendly mediator (such as Pakistan), considering it a "tactic to escalate tensions" and has clearly stated its refusal.
The official also presented five conditions that Iran could agree to for ending the war.
These conditions include: ▲ complete cessation of aggression and assassination by the enemy ▲ establishment of a robust mechanism to prevent the recurrence of war against Iran ▲ clear reparations for war damages ▲ complete cessation of hostilities on all fronts and with all resistance organizations across the Middle East ▲ Iran's legitimate exercise of sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and guarantees thereof.
The official explained that these conditions were added to the demands presented at the second round of negotiations held in Geneva a few days before the U.S. and Israeli attacks began on the 28th of last month.
Press TV reported that Iran has conveyed to the mediators its stance that a ceasefire is only possible if all conditions are accepted, and there will be no further negotiations before then.
The official emphasized, "The end of the war will come at a time decided by Iran, not at a time envisioned by Trump."
On the 23rd, President Trump stated he would focus on peace talks with Iran, mentioning 15 conditions and claiming that both sides had agreed on major issues. At that time, he also stated that Iran would not possess nuclear weapons and that the U.S. would secure Iran's highly enriched uranium.
Following this, there were successive reports that the U.S. had delivered a peace proposal containing the 15 conditions to the Iranian side through Pakistan, the mediator.
