A post on the X (formerly Twitter) account of the American foreign policy magazine 'The Diplomat' on the 18th.
The American foreign policy magazine 'The Diplomat' criticized the visit to the US by Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, stating that it was more focused on his internal survival within the party.
The magazine directly stated on social media (SNS) on the 18th (local time), "People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok’s Washington trip reveals more about his internal survival strategy than any genuine foreign policy agenda."
In a magazine article from the 16th, introduced on SNS, a reporter who appeared to be of Korean descent covered the schedule of Leader Jang's visit to the US with the headline, "PPP’s Chief Holds Meetings in Washington While His Party Faces Ruin at Home," and commented, "It is no coincidence that he met with RNC Chairman Ronna McDaniel, who has been questioning the 'election legitimacy.'"
Jang Dong-hyuk faced criticism for his insufficient understanding of right-wing philosophy, having attempted to align himself with the Democratic Party early in his political career. Despite his relatively short political history, he was elected party leader last year by securing a significant number of votes from conservatives and right-wing individuals who yearned for an investigation into election fraud, after advocating for "Yoon Again" (President Yoon Suk-yeol's return to office) and measures against fraudulent elections.
However, this year, as President Yoon Suk-yeol's verdict approached, he continued to deviate from the public sentiment for election fraud investigation by apologizing for emergency martial law or adopting a resolution for "disassociation from Yoon." This led to him being engulfed in harsh criticism labeled as "Enchufados" (Spanish for those who are appointed to positions through connections), and criticism is being raised both inside and outside the party regarding whether he can achieve tangible results during this US visit.
Meanwhile, Min Kyung-wook, a former National Assembly member of the United Future Party (predecessor to the People Power Party) who has been dedicated to the fight against election fraud, recently presented clear "guidelines" to refine the strategy of the conservative and right-wing factions, which appear to be fracturing and falling into an abyss due to the 'Enchufados' controversy, in a cover interview with
