U.S. President Donald Trump [File photo from UPI Yonhap News]U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 26th (local time) that negotiations with Iran "will be conducted by phone. So if they want to talk to us, they can call us."

Speaking in a phone interview with Fox News on the same day, Trump stated, "I will not send people (U.S. negotiation delegation) on an 18-hour trip," adding his remarks.

Trump mentioned that he had called Pakistan, which is mediating negotiations with Iran, the previous day and said, "We will no longer do this (sending the negotiation team to Pakistan)," adding, "We hold all the cards."

He also stated that Pakistan would continue its mediation, saying, "But they will continue to be involved."

Trump further commented, "But again, they know what needs to be in the (ceasefire) agreement. They cannot have nuclear weapons. Otherwise, there is no reason to meet."

These remarks come at a time when President Trump is seeking to resume face-to-face negotiations with Iran after declaring a ceasefire until the end of the negotiations.

Initially, the U.S. intended to send a negotiation delegation to Pakistan, the negotiation site, on the 25th, but postponed the dispatch as Iran appeared unwilling to negotiate.

Ultimately, President Trump's mention of "phone negotiations" on this day is interpreted as a message pressuring Iran by expressing an attitude that he is not particularly attached to the negotiations.

Regarding a war with Iran, President Trump reiterated, "We have achieved great success and will achieve a great victory. We hope they (Iran) act intelligently, but even if they don't, we will win anyway."

He also said that the blockade measures he ordered the U.S. Navy to impose on Iranian-linked vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and other maritime areas such as the Pacific are "incredibly effective," adding, "This means they can no longer make a lot of money."

President Trump further asserted, "When there is a pipeline with immense oil flowing, if that line gets blocked for any reason and cannot be continuously loaded onto containers or ships, that pipeline will explode internally due to mechanical factors. This is what actually happened to them, and due to the blockade, they have no ships."

He added, "It just explodes. And they say they only have three days left before that happens. Once it explodes, it is impossible to recover. Even if it is recovered, it will only be about 50% of the current scale."

President Trump's remarks suggest that if Iran's oil pipelines are blocked due to the blockade, an explosion will occur inside the pipelines, making the reconstruction of the oil industry virtually impossible.

In response, U.S. CNN reported, citing an analysis by an oil expert, that a significant portion of Iran's oil facilities are already shut down and the possibility of explosion is not high, pointing out that these are Trump's exaggerated remarks.

In addition, in the interview, President Trump expressed his continued dissatisfaction with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), saying, "They have not helped us properly. We have spent trillions of dollars serving them for a long time, and when we needed a little help, they were not there. So, we must remember that."

When asked if China is helping Iran, he said, "I don't think they have helped much. They might have helped, but I don't think there's much they can do."

He added, "China could have done much worse than they have, but I don't think they have done that badly."

Meanwhile, regarding the situation of the war in Ukraine, President Trump said he had "good conversations" with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but did not mention the timing.

He stated, "We are trying to resolve the situation with Russia and Ukraine. We hope we can achieve it."
