China's mega beverage brand 'CHAGEE' has preemptively established a presence in key commercial areas like Gangnam and Yongsan, prompting calls to be wary of the 'hybrid warfare' lurking behind public preferences. 

While a boycott of Starbucks might be considered a state-orchestrated atrocity, the arrival of the Chinese franchise 'CHAGEE' appears to be a gateway for invisible digital invasion, including data collection and financial network integration that threaten national security, under the protection of a pro-China government. 

If the June 3rd fraudulent election was an internal rebellion that destroyed the national system, the landing of 'CHAGEE' can be defined as an external invasion leading to the loss of data sovereignty and stirring up external chaos in Northeast Asia. 

Modern warfare does not involve crossing borders with guns and swords. It infiltrates deeply into our daily lives, packaged as sophisticated brands, convenient apps, and delicious beverages. This is the essence of the 21st-century "Chao Han War" invasion strategy, which simultaneously seizes cultural, economic, and digital platforms. 

Dismissing the expansion of espionage networks hidden within teacups as merely individual tastes is a fatal security insensitivity. We must be vigilant about the arrival of 'CHAGEE' with a clear sense of sovereignty. 

1. Strategic Invasion Targeting the Nation's Neural Network

The extensive advertising by 'CHAGEE' goes beyond mere business expansion; it will lead to the loss of data sovereignty by consumers unaware of the underlying implications. 

Consumer location data, payment patterns, and behavioral data are akin to the neural network of a modern state. Consumption is a vote of sovereignty, choosing and casting values in daily life. If consumer information flows into servers in China, which has adopted 'military-civil fusion' as its national strategy, it is no different from strategic information gathering disguised as commercial activity. 

In the age of AI, data is influence, and that influence can be transformed into a means of control that sways public opinion in our society. We need to be aware that a single cup of beverage we casually drink could become a tool that undermines our social structure from within. 

2. The Importance of Digital Territorial Sovereignty Proven by Vietnam

China's geopolitical ambitions backed by its capital have already manifested in neighboring countries. As soon as Vietnam discovered the insertion of China's unilateral maritime claim, the 'Nine-Dash Line,' within the 'CHAGEE' app, it designated this as a grave challenge to national sovereignty and immediately imposed strong administrative sanctions, including hefty fines and store closures. 

What about our country, in contrast? Despite the entire Korean Peninsula being included within China's maritime boundary of the 'First and Second Island Chains,' we are allowing cracks in our digital sovereignty to persist under the guise of 'market autonomy.' 

While we react with national outrage to Japan's mentions of Dokdo, we remain silent in the face of China's blatant digital invasion that fundamentally undermines national identity. Just as we precipitated the June 3rd incident by neglecting signs of election fraud in 2020, if we do not guard against the arrival of 'CHAGEE,' we will lose our true sovereignty beyond the digital realm. 

3. Underlying Currents of Financial Infrastructure and Human Infiltration

Financial security is also exposed to grave threats. The bearer bond charging system (gift cards) of foreign franchises resembles the 'money laundering mechanism' uncovered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and federal investigative authorities. U.S. investigative agencies revealed that Chinese organized crime syndicates had hacked gift cards and exploited them as a 'platform for laundering fentanyl drug proceeds' for drug cartels and triads. 

If the payment system of domestic Chinese franchises becomes technically integrated with certain local currency networks or China's People's Bank of China's digital currency (ECNY) system, it would result in the legal establishment of a decentralized money laundering infrastructure in the heart of South Korea, completely bypassing financial authorities' surveillance. 

Such threats were already foreshadowed and demonstrated by the 'Oriental Pearl' incident. During the investigation of a Chinese restaurant suspected of being a Chinese secret police outpost on the Han River in Songpa-gu, it was revealed through counter-intelligence monitoring that the former Chinese legal representative of KONA-I, a local currency proxy company in Gyeonggi Province, frequently visited and interacted with 'Oriental Pearl,' which is suspected of being a Chinese secret police base. 

A large merchant network directly linked to the local economy has a significant potential to be exploited as a channel for indirect financial support or legislative lobbying for pro-China political forces, disguised as legitimate investment. This would essentially create a vast bridgehead for extraterritorial capital to distort our political decision-making structure. 

4. Consumption is the Most Powerful Vote of Sovereignty

Dismissing the infiltration scenario of Chinese Communist Party capital, which exploits loopholes in the free market economy, as mere 'market share competition' is an act of dereliction of national security duty. The National Intelligence Service and financial supervisory agencies must thoroughly track and monitor the digital security and opaque financial flows of foreign franchises. 

Amidst the fraudulent election climate, the Ministry of National Defense announced its intention to dismantle and reorganize the counter-intelligence agency responsible for catching spies. Considering the inability to expect domestic counter-intelligence capabilities, a strong security alliance based on the ROK-US alliance and the public's clear sense of sovereignty are more crucial than ever. 

Now, we must choose. Will we compromise our security in comfortable indifference, or will we defend our sovereignty firmly, even if it's inconvenient? The era of defending the nation only at military borders is over. We must be vigilant so that our everyday consumption activities do not become nourishment that erodes the foundation of our nation. 

Consumption is not merely a matter of taste; it is the most powerful vote that determines the future of our nation. Before the ripple effect that began in a cup of 'CHAGEE' escalates to paralyze our security, extending beyond the invasion of our digital sovereignty, it is time to re-examine our daily consumption habits.
