Supreme Council Member Yang Hyang-ja, her face obscured by the Taegeukgi (Korean flag) waved by Kim Jin-ho, a Daejeon party member of the People Power Party. MBN report capture.
On November 29th, an incident occurred at a People Power Party event in Daejeon where Supreme Council Member Yang Hyang-ja made remarks that angered supporters.
On this day, Supreme Council Member Yang took the stage at the 'Daejeon People's Rally for Economic Recovery and Rule of Law Protection' held on Eunjeong-ro street in Jung-gu, Daejeon, and stated, "Martial law was illegal."
Agitated by her remarks, supporters heckled her, shouting, "Get down." Some supporters even threw takeout cups and rushed to the front of the stage, waving the Taegeukgi in fierce protest.
Kim Jin-ho, a party member of the People Power Party's Daejeon Metropolitan Chapter. The supporter who protested by waving the Taegeukgi that day is Kim Jin-ho, a party member of the People Power Party's Daejeon Metropolitan Chapter. After much searching, Hanmi Ilbo contacted Mr. Kim and conducted a phone interview on the 1st.
When asked about the situation that day, Mr. Kim said, "Supreme Council Member Yang pointed to the 'Martial Law was Justified' signs held by People Power Party supporters and said, 'What martial law was justified? Martial law was illegal.' Supporters heckled him and shouted 'Get down.' The MC also hastily escorted Supreme Council Member Yang off the stage," he reported.
Mr. Kim added, "What kind of day was that? It was a day for a people's rally for economic recovery. I was planning to bring a banner protesting the People Power Party lawmakers who apologized for martial law, but I decided to just bring the Taegeukgi, thinking, 'Let's keep it quiet.' However, while I was standing behind, Supreme Council Member Yang suddenly said, 'Martial law is illegal. It is the People Power Party's fault for not preventing it.' Reacting to her provocation, I unexpectedly rushed forward," he stated.
It is said that Representative Kim Min-su, who was also at the event that day, was busy trying to restore order in a state of shock.
Mr. Kim expressed his anger, stating, "The national economy is on the verge of collapse. We went there to hold the current government accountable, but does a high-ranking official of the People Power Party have to make remarks about martial law at such an event? It's baffling that a high-ranking party official, who should be speaking out against Lee Jae-myung, would tell party members who pay dues, 'Martial law is illegal...'".
He further added, "Are these events not held with the hard-earned money of 4.5 million party members? I couldn't stand it when she made such remarks without understanding the nature of the event."

In his speech before the fall of South Vietnam, President Nguyen Van Thieu of Vietnam said that he wanted to put people who pretended to be right-wing during the day but acted as partisans at night into the Communist Party for just three months. That is our current situation. Using Supreme Council Member Yang Hyang-ja's offensive remarks as a catalyst, if any People Power Party lawmaker makes statements that contradict the party's platform or acts in a way that benefits the enemy, appropriate measures should be taken," he asserted.
Currently, Mr. Kim Jin-ho is preparing the necessary documents to file a complaint against Supreme Council Member Yang with the People Power Party's Ethics Committee.
