A recent public opinion poll shows that many American citizens support President Donald Trump.
Reid Rasner, an American political consultant and polling organization, announced on social media on the 19th, "The Democratic Party is in a panic due to shocking new poll results." He added, "Republicans are trusted 6 percentage points more than Democrats on economic and inflation issues, 2 percentage points more on tariffs, 11 percentage points more on immigration, and 28 percentage points more on border security."
Notably, 48% of Americans support the Republican Party on border security policy, more than double the Democratic Party's 20%.
The survey was conducted via phone and text message from January 8th to 13th, 2026, among 1500 registered voters nationwide.
Specifically, the survey asked which party, "Democratic" or "Republican" congressional members, could better handle key policy issues such as tariffs, the middle class, healthcare, vaccines, the economy, inflation, immigration, and border security.
What is noteworthy here is that in a survey conducted within the American conservative camp, about 90% of respondents answered that they support Trump.
According to the Marist Poll released on the 16th, 89% of Republican respondents answered that America's international influence has actually strengthened since President Trump's term.
However, 90% of Democratic respondents answered that America's influence has weakened on the same question.
This gap in perception means that the evaluation of Trump is not being conducted objectively.
Despite this, left-leaning media in the United States are unilaterally creating public opinion, claiming Trump's popularity is poor. Many media outlets in Korea are also attacking Trump by directly translating their reports.
This is not solely an American issue; in Korea, the conservative right does not acknowledge poll results showing the approval rating of the Lee Jae-myung administration exceeding 50%.
A conservative citizen argued, "I have never received a call from a polling organization before. I doubt who they are targeting and how they are conducting their surveys," and asserted, "A verification system should be introduced to ensure that polling organizations conduct surveys objectively."
